About

A tax practice built on clarity, accuracy, and the long view.

For more than three decades, I've been preparing tax returns and advising clients across the Coachella Valley, Riverside, and Orange County. My practice, Michael Pro Services, is small by design — you work with me directly, not a rotating cast of preparers.

Most of my clients are families, retirees, self-employed professionals, landlords, and owner-operated small businesses. They stay with me year after year because I return calls, explain the why behind every number, and treat their returns the way I'd treat my own.

As a participant in the IRS Annual Filing Season Program, I'm credentialed to represent you on the returns I prepare and sign — so if a notice arrives, you're not navigating it alone.

  • California state returns (FTB)
  • Multi-state and part-year residents
  • Prior-year and amended returns

Tax work for the people who keep the Valley running — contractors, service providers, hospitality operators, short-term rental hosts, and owner-operated LLCs and corporations.

  • Schedule C and Schedule SE

  • Quarterly estimated tax calculations
  • 1099-NEC / 1099-MISC filings

Tax Planning & Projections

The most significant savings are earned before year-end, not at filing. I work with clients year-round to model scenarios, time income and deductions, and avoid surprises in April.

  • Mid-year and year-end planning reviews
  • Entity structure consultation
04

Beyond the day-to-day numbers — financial statements, year-end close, and the analysis you need to make informed business decisions and stay tax-ready year-round.

  • Financial statement preparation & review
  • Profit & loss and cash flow analysis
  • Year-end close & adjusting entries
  • Budgeting, forecasting & advisory
05

Estate & Trust Returns

Filings for estates, trusts, and final returns — handled with the care these circumstances call for. I coordinate with attorneys and executors when needed.

  • Trust income tax returns (Form 1041)
  • Estate returns
  • Final Form 1040 for decedents
  • Beneficiary Schedule K-1s
06

IRS & FTB Representation

If a letter arrives from the IRS or California FTB on a return I prepared and signed, I can speak with them on your behalf under the Annual Filing Season Program.

  • Response to IRS and FTB notices
  • Audit assistance on prepared returns
  • Installment agreement & resolution guidance
  • Identity verification support

How we work together

A clear, four-step process — from first call to filed return.

  1. 01

    Initial consultation

A short call or in-office meeting to understand your situation, review last year's return if applicable, and quote a flat fee before any work begins.

  2. 02

    Document intake

A simple checklist of what I need — in person, by secure upload, or by mail. I follow up directly if anything is missing or unclear.

  3. 03

    Preparation & review

I prepare the return, double-check every figure, and walk you through the result before anything is filed. Questions are welcome and expected.

  4. 04

    E-file & year-round support

Electronic filing, confirmation, and a digital copy for your records. If anything comes up after, I'm still here — not just at tax time.

FAQ

Common questions, answered plainly.

Don't see yours? Call 714-608-0511 — I'm happy to answer before we start anything.

What does SRTP mean, and how is that different from a CPA?

SRTP stands for Senior Registered Tax Preparer — a credentialed, IRS-recognized tax professional. A CPA is licensed more broadly in accounting and auditing. For individual and small-business tax preparation and planning, an SRTP in the IRS Annual Filing Season Program is fully qualified to prepare your return and represent you on it.

Do you work with clients outside the Coachella Valley?

Yes. Many clients work with me entirely by phone, email, and secure document upload. In-person meetings are available at the Cathedral City office for clients who prefer them.

How much does a return cost?

I quote a flat fee for each engagement after the initial consultation, based on the complexity of your situation. No surprises, no hourly timers running in the background.

What do I need to bring to our first meeting?

Your most recent prior-year return, W-2s and 1099s, any 1098 mortgage/interest statements, property tax records, and any business or rental records if applicable. I'll send a full checklist when we schedule.

Can you help if I haven't filed in several years?

Yes. Catch-up filings are common work for me — we'll map out which years to address, in what order, and coordinate with the IRS on any balances before they escalate.

What if I get audited?

On any return I prepared and signed, I can communicate with the IRS on your behalf under the Annual Filing Season Program — handling notices, document requests, and examinations. For complex litigation, I will refer you to a tax attorney I trust.
